There’s always been an assumption that the intro was meant for the audience, but what if the background dialogue was actually paired with a visual of Michael telling young Charlie about his whole adventure? The reason that Mike’s catchphrase is more telling than previously thought is he could be talking directly to Charlie. But, we’re starting to think that Michael Westin’s most notorious catchphrase was said in a different context. It played at the very beginning of every episode, always seemingly directed towards the audience as a form of direct exposition. Now, anyone who’s seen Burn Noticewill recognize that specific line of dialogue from the show’s intro. She tells him to start off with “my name is Michael Westin and I used to be a spy…”. Michael is unsure of how to spell out everything that happened but Fiona gives him the perfect one-liner, to begin with. While they’re enjoying some well-deserved rest, Fiona asks Michael how he’ll explain their situation to Charlie. They’re sitting with Nate’s son, Charlie, cherishing a moment of peace together. In the series finale’s conclusion, Fiona and Michael find an isolated cabin in what’s presumably a foreign country to rest in. Technically, it was more like faking their deaths than a cheerful goodbye, but at least Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) and Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) got to start over. He begins taking on odd-jobs around the city, discovering more complications than he anticipated. The bad news is that Michael Westin gets himself mixed up in more problems than he can handle. Luckily, old friends come to Michael’s aid in his time of need. Michael winds up in this strange predicament after a covert government agency blacklists him, triggering a tailspin of unfortunate circumstances. The spin-off wasn’t as well received as the original series but anything featuring Bruce Campbell is well worth a watch.įor anyone unfamiliar with Burn Notice, it follows the adventures of Michael Westin (Jeffrey Donovan), a burnt spy who gets stranded in his hometown of Miami. Not only that, but a spin-off movie was also developed to continue more of the Burn Notice story. In comparison to the other shows on the USA network, seven seasons is quite substantial. Plenty of other series have come and gone but Burn Notice managed to last an incredible seven seasons. It’s been some time since Burn Notice was on the air but the series still holds up as one of the best series on the USA Network. Every season of the series is currently available.
